Good Sunday morning, Everyone! Not being able to use my left hand/arm has proven to be a challenge in many areas one might not envision. Prior to my stroke, I was an avid cook, and I enjoyed it tremendously. After my stroke, I had to relearn this skill, and figure out a way around trying to open jars, cut fruits and vegetables, and preparing meals, in general.
As I am an independent soul, I got aggrevated asking for assitance, so I purchased a “Swedish gizmo” for the kitchen counter. This gizmo allowed me to prepare my meals with a little more ease than I was able to do, prior to receiving it. It has clamps for holding things and a cutting service with spikes for additional creative methods of preparing food items. It has allowed me to feel successful in an area I used to gain praise from, BUT being able to actually USE my left arm is what would really assist me in the kitchen. When the Tailwind’s magic finally kicks in for me, I will gladly donate my Swedish gizmo to a worthly recepient.
Speaking of food: Today we will venture out to see the movie Julie and Julia. I’m sure that once I view the real pros on film, I will think of other creative methods for my food preparation. Sincerely, Shary

Thank you for the sound critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. I am very happy to see such great information being shared freely out there.
